Workshop Progress on the use UAS Techniques for Environmental Monitoring

We are pleased to inform that the next Workshop of the COST Action HARMONIOUS  will be held at the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences in Pruhonice, Czech Republic (at the outskirt of Prague), February 27th. The Workshop will be focused on the progress in the use of UAS techniques for environmental monitoring, and will be opened to all interested parties. Come to Prague to find out about our activities!

Invited speakers:

  • Ewelina Rupnic (École Nationale des Sciences Géographiques, France) – Accuracy estimation and optimization of UAV photogrammetric 3D models – selected real case-studies realized with the free open source photogrammetric suite “MicMac“
  • Michael James (Lancaster University, UK) – Photogrammetric considerations for SfM-based topographic modelling

Practical session:

  • MicMac, eCognition

All Action members are kindly invited to submit an abstract on one of the four topics of the Action (data processing, vegetation, soil moisture and stream flow monitoring) in order to contribute to the discussion. Abstract can be submitted via easy chair before January 30th. (deadline has been postponed)

It is also necessary to underline that we are promoting two special issues that will be linked to this meeting and it is likely that the best oral presentations will be selected for publication on one of the two special issues:

1) Progress on the Use of UAS Techniques for Environmental Monitoring on Remote Sensing (MDPI, IF 3.406)

2) Hydrological and Environmental Modeling: From Observations to Predictions on Water (MDPI, IF 2.069)

In the following days after this workshop, there will be WG meetings (28/02) and MC meeting (1/03).
