Day 3. 28.02.2020 – Practicals and Hands-on activities on the Case Studies
9:00 – 11:00 Practical: Soil moisture mapping and modelling (P. Nasta, Y. Zeng, A. Maltese)
Students will retrieve a map of soil moisture via UAV thermal data, to be used in modelling software (e.g., HYDRUS)
11:00 – 11:30 Coffee Break
11:30 – 13:30 Practical: Downscaling, Classification and Vegetation stress (Y. Zeng, G. Ciraolo)

13:30 – 14:30 Lunch

14:30 – 19:30: Hands-on Activities on the Case Studies
Student working project (in small groups, 4-5 students): working on the sample data provided, students choose a topic and try to work on it, with the help of material provided (“tutorial”) and tutors.

Day 4. 29.02.2020 – Students presentation of a working project
9:00 – 11:30: Each group has 30/45 minutes to present the working project
11:30 – 12:00: Discussion and feedback (all participants) & Possibility of students engagement in the action activities (Salvatore Manfreda).

Costs

Free of charge, accommodation and travel will be supported by the COST Action HARMONIOUS – Harmonization of UAS techniques for agricultural and natural ecosystems monitoring.

Selected students from COST countries are eligible for an economical support of 800€. The support will be transferred only at the end of the school.
